Honoring the legacy of social justice advocate Michael Latt, this six-month online residency program on Sundance Collab is designed to uplift storytellers of color with a focus on creative, social and cultural impact and to galvanize communities with opportunities, hope and inspiration. 
Andscape, the Black-led media platform owned by The Walt Disney Company, has acquired “Hoops, Hopes & Dreams,” a short documentary that premiered at Sundance Film Festival. It also received the best documentary short award at the 2025 Cleveland International Film Festival.
Sundance Institute director Michelle Satter announced on social media the fund will continue her late son's work "using art to foster love, hope and healing by leveraging storytelling for enduring social impact."
This 12-week internship program for ages 16-22, highlights the intersection of art and activism. Through immersive workshops, guest speakers, and curated events, students explored how creative expression can drive change while developing ideas for community-focused art projects.
This short documentary produced by Michael Latt and directed by Glenn Kaino, premiered at Sundance 2025, won Best Documentary Short at Cleveland International Film Festival.
The Michael Latt Legacy Fund was honored to be celebrated at Liberty Hill’s 42nd Annual Upton Sinclair Celebration with the inspiring theme of “Building the Good: Democracy in Action.”
