Art in Action. The Michael Latt Artivist Accelerator Program

Art in Action is a 12-week fellowship that blends art and activism to help launch your creative career and impact your community. Participants will receive $1,000 to develop a community-centered art project and learn from renowned artists. Classes will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays from April 21 to July 10 from 6 to 8 pm.

Honoring Michael Latts’s work and advocacy, Art in Action aims to enable, inspire, and educate the next generation of artistic and entrepreneurial leaders in Greater South Los Angeles.

An installation of paint, gold and ruthenium-plated model parts, meteor fragments, amber, quartz, steel, foam, appeared at 2025 Frieze Los Angeles paid homage to Lead With Love, Kaino’s long-time collaborator, Michael Latt.

Beginning January 23 through February 2, festival attendees can catch 57 short films from 28 countries and territories — including live action, animated, and nonfiction documentary titles.
As a tribute to Michael Latt, New Media Ventures Summit held their first ever short film competition providing awards to three ground-breaking filmmakers.
Glenn Kaino, born, raised, and still residing in LA, is an artist who consistently believes in the forward momentum that art can possess to build community and create change in the world.
